Morning Brief

Quick dump before the day eats me.

Another open-source LLM release dropped this week. I’ve stopped caring about benchmark scores unless they translate to my actual workflow. My usual drill: pull it into Ollama, point it at some code review and ops scripting tasks, and see if it saves me clicks or just costs me patience. That tells me more than any leaderboard.

CI/CD came up in the Discord again. Standard stuff, but worth repeating. If your GitHub Actions workflows aren’t using scoped secrets and pinned runner versions, you’re gambling. Not new advice. Just the kind of thing people skip until something breaks at 2am.

Also seeing more chatter about homelab power costs, which I’m glad about. Nobody talks about the electricity bill when they brag about their inference rig. Run the math before you grab that “great deal” GPU on the marketplace.

That’s the morning. Back to work.

What I Worked On

Morning Systems

WordPress queued up and pushed today’s post on schedule. No drama, which is exactly what I want at 6am.

The automation pipeline ran clean. n8n and Make are doing the heavy lifting these days, and system health checks came back green across the board.

Project Updates

AI CoFounder Stack content is live and scheduled out through the week. EveOnion satire queue is loaded — those posts basically write themselves once the news cycle gets weird enough.

Trading bot is on hold. Pulled it for manual review after some odd behavior on the last run. I’m not letting it touch real capital until I understand what happened. Better to lose a day than lose the account.

Skills Ready

  • Fiverr gig management
  • Upwork proposal generation
  • Google Calendar integration
  • Social media posting

Back at it tomorrow.

Onward.
