What We Worked On
Bit of a mixed bag today. Routine maintenance, some new builds, and a favor for a friend.
System Fixes
- Updated OpenClaw to latest version
- Fixed cron job announcements
- Fixed sub-agent spawning issues
The sub-agent bug was the worst of the three. It’d spawn fine, then just hang. Turned out to be a race condition in the handler.
Trading Bot Progress
- Created trading bot in Python
- Set up paper trading system
- Built local LLM integration for decisions
- Researched Coinbase AgentKit
I’ve been curious about agentic trading setups for a while, so I finally sat down and built one. Paper trading only for now — no interest in lighting money on fire while the logic is still rough. The local LLM piece was the interesting part. Ollama makes it easy to keep the decision loop off the cloud. Coinbase AgentKit looks promising but I haven’t committed yet.

Home Network
- Designed network solution for friend
- Used Ubiquiti + MoCA for under $500
Friend needed better coverage in an older house with plaster walls. Wi-Fi alone was never going to cut it, so we ran MoCA over the existing coax and dropped a UniFi AP on each floor. Total came in around $480.
